Bayan School.
Bayan, Tov Aimag
The school started in 1940 with 2 teachers, 2 workers and 40 students and ran its lessons in 2 gers, whereas, it has now more than 300 students and a staff of 20 teachers and 20 support workers. Today this 9-grade school owns real estate worth 596,532,701.7, current asset of 25 million, a dormitory for 30 children.
A total of 3,000 students were graduated from this school between 1940 and 2010.




Some important events during the 70 years of school’s history are:
- Some of famous communist leaders from USSR, Poland and Czechoslovakia visited the school.
- The school received best marks in communist competitions organized by high level communist organizations in 1966 and 1967.
- Students used to get actively involved in campaings to help rural herders during their summer holidays
- The school took 1st place in a communist competition organized by the aimag government in 1988-1989.
- Mr. Tsedev, then Director of Public Rest Home, donated 50 sheep, 2 pigs and a horse to the school on the occasion of the School’s 40th Anniversary in 1980. It was the beginning of development of the school’s auxiliary farm.
- There is a description of how the school started opening exhibits dipslaying handicrafts and souvenirs made by students at their labor skill training class and started earning some incomes to be used for development of vocational training skills for students.
- The school was involved in 154 various projects and made a good quality repair to the school building in 2007.
- The school was involved in the COMPUTER FOR EVERY CHILDREN program under the patronage of the President of Mongolia and received 123 PCs for students. Computers are being currently used in the training process.
- The school has been or currently is involved in international and local development projects including ADRA, Asral Center, Computer for Every Children, Brako from Sweden and KOIKA (South Korea).
- The school has become a base –school implementing programs from World Bank, GTZ and Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.
- The school renovated training class-rooms and equipment for labor skills for male and female students respectively, room for teacher development and english training room in 2006 with funding from World Bank.
- IT room was renovated very well with purchase of 10 Acer destop computers in 2009-2010.
- A good repair for the cost of MNT 7.2 M was made to the dormitory for 30 children in 2007.
- Sweden-based Braco project provided funding worth MNT300 Million and the school replaced all desks, chairs and boards.
